The Role
The Lead Process Engineer will be engaged in various process design activities relating to Wood's proprietary Sulfur Recovery technology as well as other engineering projects related to sour water stripping, tail gas treating, thermal treatment, and incineration.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical responsibilities
Understands the project delivery process and help define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals
Act as process lead on project teams and manage the process engineers work to ensure the completion, technical accuracy, and quality of the process deliverables that are developed on projects assigned
Lead the development of PFD's, P&ID's, Mass and Energy Balances, Equipment Lists, Process Equipment Specifications, generate instrument process data, generate relief loads and pressure safety valve data, do hydraulic calculations, participate in safety review meetings such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and What-If
Interacts and lead discussions with clients in technical meetings, site visits and business development meetings
Provide guidance and relevant technical information to other disciplines who are in mechanical, electrical, structural, estimating and process control groups.
Provide engineering expertise to optimize process systems and implement cost reduction opportunities
Evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate system malfunctions and debottlenecks
Ensure adherence to Wood's quality and safety standards
Regularly reports to a Process Manager/Supervisor and Project Manager on projects assigned

Expected:
Bachelor's degree or master's degree in chemical engineering
Minimum 5 to 7 years process design experience in refinery and/or chemical process unit projects
In-depth knowledge of sulfur related technologies
Strong communication skills, verbal and written, is required for interactions internal within Wood and our clients who are domestic and foreign
A willingness to travel as needed
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required
