Basic Job Functions:

• Actively promote safety and work towards an incident free workplace
• Work alongside the Safety Engineer and other teammates and departments to promote and enhance Nucor's safety, health and environmental processes
• Assist in the continual development, organization, review and maintenance of safety records and training
• Assist in assessing job tasks for hazards, identifying root causes in an incident and finding effective corrective actions to minimize future risk

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to work onsite at NTP-Birmingham year-round in some capacity.
• Minimum sophomore standing.
• Current student working towards a degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Safety/Emergency services certifications
