Overview
The Senior Clinical Informatics Specialist (SCIS) will:
Act as the lead informaticist and project manager for assigned projects and complex change work
Will independently practice informatics while applying clinical practice knowledge with advanced systems knowledge
Will act as a mentor to Associate and Clinical Informatics specialists
Leads efforts business requirements, identifies gaps, develops and designs clinical workflows including future state recommendations based in the integration of operations and technology for complex changes and projects
Leads efforts to plans, assess and identify risk and mitigation in workflows and clinical software systems
Works with implementation services to act as the primary informaticist and leads clinical IT project efforts on enterprise level projects
This position supports Ambulatory Clinics
Responsibilities
Education:
Master’s degree in an IT related field, business, informatics, a clinical field or equivalent and 4 years’ work related experience in the information technology field supporting electronic health records or a combination of clinical healthcare environments; OR
Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field, business, informatics, a clinical field or equivalent and 7 years’ work related in the information technology field supporting electronic health records or a combination of clinical healthcare environments; OR
Associate’s degree in an IT related field, business, informatics, a clinical field or equivalent and 9 years’ work related experience in the information technology field supporting electronic health records or a combination of clinical healthcare environments;OR
10 years’ work related experience in the information technology field supporting electronic health records or a combination of clinical healthcare environments; OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate’s degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
4 years of experience as an informaticist or informatics specialist or equivalent or 4 years of experience the information technology field supporting electronic health records, specifically clinicians, clinical healthcare experience or combination of the above
At least 1 year of experience in leading medium to large scale projects and/or changes or resource management in a healthcare setting
Clinical or administrative experience in the direct delivery of patient care or equivalent social services or academic/research informatics
Experience as an end user of HIT software or equivalent
Member of a project team implementing large scale, enterprise level projects
