Primary job duties include, but are not limited to: Counts, Receives, stores, issues, and performs accurate inventory system transactions of spare and replacement parts, equipment, and expendable items used in the repair or maintenance of vehicles, shops, and other departments/divisions. Requisitions needed parts and supplies by following UTA policies and procedures. Maintains inventory accuracy and proper inventory levels of parts and supplies. Picks and prepares stock orders for interdepartmental shipping. Ability to use computerized, electronic, and paper systems to perform essential functions. Participates in inventories. Monitor gas, diesel, oil, compressed gases and oxygen, sand, and other product tank levels. Responsible for maintaining excellent customer service skills in interactions with mechanics, vendors, manufacturers, and UTA personnel and maintain professionalism at all times. Have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, energetic, high customer service work environment. Operate necessary equipment to move inventory. Performs other duties as assigned by UTA from time to time which may be necessary for the efficient operation of UTA.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two years previous inventory management, inventory control, or shipping/receiving work experience.
Previous experience with vehicle parts and ability to use electronic and paper parts manuals (preferred).
Medium to heavy-duty transit parts experience (preferred).
Parts certifications (preferred).
Must have 1 year experience in a customer service role providing face to face instructions and clarifying information with the ability to solve problems and resolve customer inquiries.
Responsible for maintaining excellent customer service skills in interactions with mechanics, vendors, manufacturers, and UTA personnel and maintain professionalism at all times.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, energetic, high customer service environment.
Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, mechanics and maintain good interpersonal relations orally, over the radio, over the phone, and through email.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Passing score on standardized test administered by the Authority.
Demonstrated reading and math comprehension.
Demonstrated competence with computer systems and operation to include basic level skills on Internet, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certified narrow aisle, sit down counter balance, order picker, overhead cranes, and low lift pallet jack within your probationary period.
Must have a valid Utah Drivers License.
Be a safe driver with no more than 4 moving violations in the past 3 years.
Have no convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol or any drugs within the past 10 years.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs consistently.
Must be able to manipulate at least 80 lbs on a hard surface.
Must be able to safely climb and work in high locations above 6 feet.
