Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment, including conveyors, packaging machinery, processing equipment, and other related systems, according to established schedules and procedures.
Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical malfunctions in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
Equipment Maintenance: Repair and maintain a variety of equipment, including but not limited to, pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and control systems.
Electrical Maintenance: Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including working with 480V 3-phase systems, control panels, and PLCs.
Food Safety Compliance: Adhere to all food safety regulations and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts usage, and equipment logs.
Collaboration: Work closely with production and quality control teams to address equipment issues and improve overall efficiency.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Parts Inventory: Maintain an organized and accurate inventory of spare parts and tools.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend opportunities for process and equipment improvements.
Emergency Repairs: Respond to emergency maintenance calls and address equipment breakdowns promptly.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
2-3 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Experience working with PLCs and control systems.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and GMPs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and wet environments.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
Forklift certification is a plus.
Experience with welding is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with specific equipment used in food processing.
Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Experience with preventative maintenance softwares.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions.
