Job Description:

Job Description Summary
Various tasks of heavy equipment operation in the plant including:

• Operates equipment in a safe and professional manner


• Maintain cleanliness of interior/exterior of equipment


• Report any accident or incident to supervisor


• Performs pre and post-trip equipment inspections, including fluid levels and greasing. Fill out daily vehicle condition report.


• Informs Service Technician and supervisor of any maintenance or repairs needed


• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times


• Keep log book on work area Inspection


• The ability to work extended hours and Saturdays


• Cover vacations in different tasks when needed


• Load customers and company trucks in the yard


• Perform plant maintenance


• Travel to other plant locations


• Work various shifts

Requirement

The ideal candidate will:

• Demonstrate good performance, safety, and attendance


• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision


• Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays/nights


• Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Other Equipment Operators, and other employees


• Demonstrate the ability to conform to and maintain MSHA, OSHA, and all other company policies or governmental state rules and regulations


• Must have good depth perception and coordination to operate controls


• Must have a valid driver's license


• Prescreening is required before being employed by Callanan Industries, Inc.


• Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required


• Maintain the highest level of customer service and courtesy

Preferences

• The ideal candidate will have some familiarity with aggregate/asphalt operations


• Candidate must be able to run equipment and be mechanically inclined to be able to handle plant maintenance

Salary and Benefits:

• This position offers a Union rate of $24.46-31.22 per hour.
