About the Department
The Research Analyst will join a dynamic lab investigating the genetic basis of evolutionary innovations in both model and non-model organisms, including zebrafish and sea robins. The lab operates year-round at the University of Chicago, with an exciting summer field season at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) in Woods Hole, MA (https://www.mbl.edu/). This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in laboratory management, animal husbandry, and independent research using molecular biology and genetics, while working as part of a collaborative research team. This position will begin March 1, 2025.
Job Summary

Responsibilities
Oversee lab management, including ordering supplies, maintaining inventories, and keeping the lab organized.
Perform fish husbandry, ensuring the care and well-being of research organisms.
Installs, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
Performs other related work as needed.

Bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, or a related field.
Experience:
Previous laboratory research experience (e.g., molecular biology, genetics, or animal husbandry) is highly preferred.
