What we need:



Mohawk is looking for a Certified Final Inspector in the Dalton, Ga area. You will inspect carpet (running on the line) for any defects, tag & enter such defects into the AS400 system as needed.



What you'll do:




  • Distinguish between quality & off quality carpet via comparison with deck boards & carpet folder info in the Lab
  • Verify the style & color number of Dye are correct vs carpet folder info & tag as necessary
  • Basic computer skill (AS400) to enter carpet data in as needed
  • Measure the width of each greige good roll
  • Clean or repair defects when able
  • Enter roll information onto computer
  • May be required to run roll up machine when needed
  • Print and Tag carpet rolls with identification tickets as needed
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management
  • Be able to grade streak level and hand/feel of carpet via deck boards
  • Be able to pull and stage deck boards for upcoming styles



What you have:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Reads and writes in standard English and proficient in performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
  • Successful completion of all required on the job training.
  • Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.



What you're good at:





  • Must be an effective team member.

  • Good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and in related support areas.

  • Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.



What else:




  • Ability to lift or move 50 lbs
  • Ability to pass color blind test and or color hue test
  • Must be capable of frequently stepping on and off cat-walk
