Purpose of Job:
Support warehouse operations and deliver batteries to dealers in a safe and timely manner when requested (on-demand). Load/unload trucks, maintain a well-stocked, organized warehouse and assist delivery drivers as needed.
Job Components:
General warehousing duties as assigned by management, including assisting customers.
Deliver batteries to customers on a timely basis and in a safe and professional manner
Follow all Environmental Health and Safety rules and policies
Load and unload trucks safely
Ensure batteries are charged, cleaned and dated, and that stock is rewrapped after rotation.
Accurately complete reports and claims
Establish, build and maintain good dealer relationships.
Keep displays and product full/rotated per consignment agreements.
Collect and handle payments on account, which may include cash, checks and money orders
Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to the warehouse.
Interact professionally with all stakeholders including team members, managers and customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school graduate (or equivalent)
Able to read, write and compute basic math
Excellent communication skills required.
Minimum of one year experience in warehouse operations preferred
Working knowledge of computers and applicable systems is required
Previous experience in a customer-facing role is required
Ability to multi-task, quickly transitioning from one function/task to the next.
Demonstrates good organizational skills and can prioritize tasks
Works with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Approaches tasks with a sense of urgency
Must work effectively in a team environment
Able to work overtime if requested.
Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
Must have and maintain a valid DOT medical card and state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Scope Data:
Works under general supervision and guidance
Accountable for general warehouse duties and backup driving responsibilities, in addition to occasional front counter customer service
Work Environment:
Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Regularly required to stand, walk, hear, talk, and use hands to grasp and handle objects.
Use of PPE required (steel toe boots, safety glasses, protective gloves, etc.)
