Position Summary: The Value Stream Manager plays a key role in the Omega Operations team. Value Stream Manager engages with their team to improve supply chain performance using lean methodologies and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops and Drives Value Stream operations strategy in alignment with business strategic objectives and improvement priorities.
Lead development of current and future state value stream maps and continuous improvement plans.
Drives success of day-to-day production activities within value stream using lean daily management approach.
Champion, Lead and participate in self-directed Kaizen events.
Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Responsible for developing/managing departmental budgets for expenditures for supplies, materials, or human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
Engage in SIOP process to align supply/demand and identify resource gaps.
Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Confers with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
Change agent to promote employee engagement in hands-on problem solving.
Responsible for employee training plan for process operations and safety procedures.
Develop and deliver complete, fair, accurate and meaningful employee performance reviews.
Develops and/or implements metrics and analytics for; safety, quality, delivery, cost to drive improvement.
Development of capital plan for Value Stream
Consults with engineering on opportunities for product improvement and rationalization.
Support design engineering staff on NPI and Custom Engineered products.
Sets and monitors product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
Experience/Skills Required:
Experience leading a production team in a Lean manufacturing environment
Ability to build, develop and retain a high-performing team through assessment, recruiting, coaching, and developing others
Strong background working with ERP systems and tools
Demonstrate a process-oriented, data-driven mindset for decision making
Ability to leverage metrics and other tools to drive performance
Ability to communicate at all levels and translate technical language for clarity
Requirements:
Minimum Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in operations, engineering or applicable discipline, MBA strongly preferred
7+ years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, including 3+ years of managing others
Lean/Six Sigma Certification – preferred
