Position Overview

The Manager of Service will lead a group of Technicians that include welders, painters and wash bay attendants in the daily service operations at an assigned branch. This position is responsible for providing a safe workplace and developing a “Safety First” culture. The Manager of Service position is responsible for hiring and developing employees as well as addressing employee issues. This position will be fully responsible for the financial performance of the assigned store(s) and cost centers. As such, it will fall on the Manager of Service to create an operating budget, control costs, build loyal customers, meet financial objectives, and establish good employee relations.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES*:

• Responsible for the daily operations of the assigned service department, including managing location staff, reviewing profit and loss, staffing, employee development and training, equipment utilization, equipment maintenance, and safety regulations.


• Plans, manages and controls all Shop and Field service-related activities associated with service repair work. Strives for constant improvement and development of service department by researching and developing new techniques and procedures to increase overall efficiency of service department operation.


• Ensures the highest levels of customer service possible are provided through constant communication with the technicians, support functions, and the customer.


• Responsible for the growth and development of technicians in accordance with the Technician Development Program and any other business relevant criteria.


• Participate in required safety programs and ensure that all employees complete safety training and work in a safe manner.


• Provides frequent communication of service status updates for each customer, as well as research, fact-finding, resolution and follow-up of customer questions and concerns so that nothing come as a surprise to the customers. Provides advice related to replace versus repair options.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS*:

• 5 years technical experience
  • Welding experience preferred
  
  


• Ability to develop and expand business


• Proven ability to lead and mentor
