Job Summary
The Director of Institutional Research is responsible for advancing the educational mission and institutional effectiveness of the University by providing creative and dynamic leadership for a comprehensive program of Institutional Research to support the strategic planning and direction of the University.
The Director of Institutional Research collects and provides information, data analysis and projections for university planning, participates in long- and short-range planning and assists in the planning and executing strategic initiatives.
The Director provides leadership and guidance in the areas of institutional research, effectiveness, accountability, accreditation, information management, data reporting, and assessment. Through collaboration and communication with key campus constituents, the Director is responsible for research projects, campus assessment initiatives, analysis and reporting of institutional assessment data, generation of internal and external reports, and monitoring campus accountability and assessment measures including state-determined performance metrics.
This position assists campus leadership in the identification of issues, analysis of trends, and the understanding of outcomes (i.e., turning data into information for the University community), as well as contributing to the strategic planning, evaluation, and development of institutional policy. Inherent in these responsibilities is the expectation of working collaboratively with key campus administrators to ensure access to accurate data for the timely submission of all required federal and state reports.
* Master's degree from an accredited college or university* Five years' experience in higher education institutional research and assessment
* Strong communication skills in interpreting and presenting data to internal and external audience
* Strong collaborative skills
* Advanced statistical analysis abilities
* Experience with statistical analytical tools (SPSS, SAS, EXCEL, etc.) and dashboarding tools (TABLEAU, etc.)
* Advanced proficiency with a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software
* Familiarity with educational technology and information systems
* Understanding of trends in higher education and society
* Evidence of working effectively with a diverse and multicultural student body, faculty/staff, and community.
* Experience in working with a state system* Experience in working with the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE)
* Experience Middle States Commission on Higher Education re-accreditation process is strongly preferred
