We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer 3 to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Bedford, NH office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you will:
Lead the execution of project work through individual contribution and delegation to lower-level staff.
Lead environmental compliance projects, with special emphasis on permitting and compliance.
Understand and develop technical scopes of work and proposals in your specialty area and make connections between your and other aspects of the project to achieve client goals. Have an ability to recognize conditions that require modifications to accommodate client- or regulatory-specific requirements.
Demonstrate and apply knowledge of codes, regulations, and professional standards of practice to assigned project work.
Understand Federal and state environmental regulations and to evaluate and interpret requirements as they apply to our clients.
Coach, mentor, and support staff to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure high-quality execution of project tasks, technical reports, and deliverables.
Use developing skills to be visible in your specialty area by giving internal and external technical presentations and attending external networking events.
Play a significant leadership role in performing technical evaluations and developing compliance plans for regulatory aspects of projects.
Lead and perform the development of support studies and permit applications.
Plan and perform all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols.
Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Minimum Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field.
15+ years of related experience.
Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including verbally communicating and presenting project information.
Desire to master skills in your discipline to become visible in the industry.
Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks pertinent to the work.
Understanding of common industrial activities and the relationship with various environmental media/regulations (e.g., air, wastewater, regulated waste, EPCRA, tanks).
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and other standard software; GIS or CAD experience a plus.
Preferred Skills
Master’s degree in environmental science/policy or related field.
Expertise in preparing Environmental Reports and filings for projects regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
Knowledgeable with compiling and filing state and federal regulatory application and environmental reports (e.g., NEPA Environmental Impact Statements, state licensing applications, etc.
