Main Function:

The CAD Consultant role will be directed by the Manager, CAD Services.  This role is primarily responsible for preparation of shopping center lease exhibits, space layout plans, building modification plans and site plan modifications.   The role requires organization, accuracy, attention to detail, relationship building skills, verbal & written communication, judgment and confidentiality.  

Responsibilities:

The CAD Consultant is responsible for the timely execution of assigned deliverables per the Company’s CAD standards, for example: 

•  Lease Outline Drawings
• Legal Exhibits
• Conceptual Site Plans
• Update existing CAD files. Convert paper surveys/plans to digital working documents.
• Special, nonrecurring and ongoing projects. 
• Other deliverables as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Experience in Architectural and/or Land Development design is required; can be either formal training or practical; Professional licensure is not required
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD
• Ability to read Survey plans and/or Site/Civil plans is required
• Must possess good analytical skills and problem solving abilities
• Must be able to take direction, then assume initiative to complete deliverables in a timely manner
• Strong attention to detail and organization; able to focus on multiple deliverables simultaneously
• Good time management and prioritizing skills with the ability to meet assigned project(s) deadlines
• “Results oriented” approach to tasks, assignments and responsibilities.
• Good verbal & written communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Ability to productively work assigned hours; accurately track and report time as directed.
• Intermediate to advanced level in MS Outlook, Word and Excel, PowerPoint. 
• PhotoShop/Adobe Illustrator proficiency is a plus
• Sketchup with experience using V-Ray is a plus
• Access to high-speed internet in a distraction-free working environment
• Access to appropriate computer hardware and software

 

Education and Experience:

• Training and demonstrated proficiency in CAD and related design software is required
• Minimum three years AutoCAD drafting / design experience  
• College education in computer aided drafting & design, engineering, architecture or planning is a plus
• Experience working in retail / shopping center design is a plus
