The Engineering Mechanics and Infrastructure group at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) has built a solid foundation for advanced engineering services based on experience with complex engineering analyses and design, frequently supported by materials evaluation. Special areas of expertise include failure analysis, wind effects, seismic analysis, soil-structure interaction, dynamic and blast response, structural plastics, composites, metallurgy, and corrosion analysis.

Our EMI team at SGH is always looking for great talent and especially people who enjoy solving difficult problems in a creative way. EMI applies engineering mechanics, materials science, numerical simulation, innovative technologies, and collective expertise to solve our clients toughest problems in an inspiring work environment that nurtures life-long learning and growth. A successful candidate for EMI may work on projects related to buildings, bridges, pipelines, nuclear facilities, tanks, rail vehicles, rotating equipment, precision observatory structures, and other non-building structures and systems.
What Youll Be Doing:
The candidate will be a key contributor in materials science and engineering within Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, Inc. They will work on projects where materials (metals, concrete, polymers, and composites) play a critical role, including: evaluating and specifying materials for new designs, investigating existing materials applications, conducting failure analysis, and developing repair recommendations. Applications include structural components and industrial and commercial products. The candidate will be expected to manage tasks, collaborate with clients, prepare written reports and presentations, and perform laboratory and field studies.

Compensation:
Anticipated annual base salary: $78,520 - $103,480. This range is a good faith estimate pursuant to applicable equal pay and pay transparency laws. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors including the candidates experience, qualifications and work location.
Base salary is a part of SGHs industry leading Total Compensation package. Our Total Compensation package includes base salary, pay for extra hours worked, an annual discretionary bonus program, generous paid time off, and health and wellness benefits with a special emphasis on substantial SGH contributions to medical insurance premiums and SGHs Profit Sharing & 401(k) Plan.
