Position: Sourcing Managers



Responsibilities:



The Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing, negotiating, and maintaining competitively advantageous supply arrangements as the functional expert with a key focus on cost savings and security of supply. Specifically, the Sourcing Manager will: (1) Develop in-depth commercial and technical knowledge of the materials and categories supported. This includes a detailed understanding of the associated supply, process, and value chains; (2) Monitor, communicate, and respond to changing market conditions and business drivers on a global basis to maximize leverage and minimize risk; (3) Challenge the status quo to create unique and lower "total cost of supply" sourcing options and processes; (4) Bring innovative supplier solutions (i.e., electronic commerce, utilization of by-product streams, etc.) to maximize value and minimize the total cost of supply; (5) Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers; (6) Address the sourcing and cost complexity created by market and energy conditions causing severe raw material price fluctuations; (7) Guide and influence regional & global supply strategies within strong multi-functional (manufacturing, technology, and supply chain) business teams, while coordinating on the development and execution of global supply strategies; (8) Challenge technical specifications and business inputs when purchasing capability is severely confined; (9) Develop and manage key supplier relationships with both EMD and supplier organizations within the chemical industry to ensure alignment with business strategies. Manage supplier performance and maintain interface with supplier's organization; and (10) Identify new source opportunities to support R&D efforts to support the business platforms. Salary: One hundred twenty-four thousand thirty dollars per year to one hundred forty-four thousand thirty dollars per year.



Requirements & Qualifications:



Employer requires candidate to have a Bachelor's degree in any field and five (5) years of progressively more responsible hands-on work experience in any occupation involving sales, purchasing, or commercially-oriented business experience dealing with complex negotiations. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in any field and three (3) years of hands-on work experience in any occupation involving sales, purchasing, or commercially-oriented business experience dealing with complex negotiations.


Candidate must also have the following:

Demonstrated ability addressing the sourcing and cost complexity created by market and energy conditions and resulting raw material price fluctuations gained through two (2) years of work experience;

Demonstrated ability guiding and influencing regional and global supply strategies within strong multi-functional (manufacturing, technology, and supply chain) business teams, while coordinating with development and execution of global supply strategies gained through two (2) years of work experience;

Demonstrated knowledge of vendor relations gained through three (3) years of work experience; and

Demonstrated ability with SAP ERP or SAP Ariba gained through three (3) years of work experience.

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.
