Description: International logistics client in the San Francisco area is seeking a Business Development Manager that will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and strengthening client relationships within our existing international logistics customer base. This position focuses on identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to expand service offerings, increase shipment volume, and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of international logistics, excellent relationship-building skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Responsibilities:
Account Management & Growth:
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at assigned existing accounts.
Conduct regular account reviews to identify opportunities for service expansion, process optimization, and cost savings.
Proactively identify and address customer needs and concerns.
Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Increase shipment volume and revenue from existing clients.
Sales & Business Development:
Identify and pursue cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts.
Introduce and promote new service offerings, including freight forwarding (air, sea, land), customs brokerage, warehousing, and supply chain solutions.
Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and presentations to clients.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with existing clients.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and threats.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with internal teams (operations, customer service, finance) to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Provide regular updates and reports on account performance, sales activities, and market trends to management.
Act as a liaison between clients and internal departments to resolve issues and ensure timely communication.
Maintain accurate records within the companies CRM.
International Logistics Expertise:
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and transportation modes.
Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on international logistics solutions.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
Strong understanding of international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and supply chain management.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced international environment.
Travel may be required
