Job Summary / Basic Function:


Job Summary:The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for supporting Lamar Institute of Technology's marketing, strategic communication, and public relations initiatives. This position reports directly to the Director of Communications and Marketing and will support the Marketing and Public Information department as a whole. This is an exempt level position.

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Handles communications professionally and effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment with students, staff, faculty, business and industry officials, and the general public

  • Helps to develop and execute marketing strategies and determines message hierarchy

  • Works on marketing programs and initiatives with the primary goal of increasing enrollment at LIT

  • Collaborates within and outside of department to ensure goals and initiatives align

  • Maintains knowledge of AP Style guidelines

  • Adheres to and helps to enforce in-house style and branding guidelines

  • Maintains knowledge of message, demographics, market information and other pertinent information for assigned enrollment campaigns

  • Conceptualize, design and produce high quality graphics and other materials for digital and print uses

  • Prepares brochures, flyers, and other publications as needed for recruitment

  • Working knowledge of graphic (Adobe Creative Suite) and web applications and MS Office Suite

  • Accurately proofs and edits copies and other communications

  • Researches and stays abreast of on-going trends in print, online and other marketing mediums and suggests/applies such trends accordingly

  • Effectively manages timelines for simultaneous projects

  • Travels to events as needed

  • May be required to work some evenings or weekends, according to campus needs





Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stoop and kneel, occasional ladder climbing and the ability to lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs. according to event needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication arts or related field.

  • At least one to three years of experience in marketing, editing, design or visual brand management work experience

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment while working both independently and collaboratively

  • Exceptional administrative/organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Must be a creative thinker and problem solver

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with excellent attention to detail

Salary:

$35,568-$44,000 annually
