Position Summary
Responsible for purchasing of marine transportation products and services including marine terminal, barge, lines, tug, & pilots. Research and organize information for contract negotiations. Provide required details and data in preparation for contract negotiations with transportation service vendors. Organize required meetings with transportation service providers. Develop and maintain negotiation history, service and rate schedules.

Description
Develop and maintain strong working with relationship with external suppliers focusing on Intermodal Procurement strategy. Strategy should align with business requirements that include service & cost effective solutions
Initiate rate negotiations with suppliers while monitoring Intermodal service levels
Organize and continue to develop tracking of cost effective savings initiatives and ideas related to budget items
Act as escalation point for issues and opportunities that may arise with CMA CGM Intermodal vendors
Develop, implement & maintain structured SOPs for the area of responsibility and ensure compliance with companywide requirements
Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders: Intermodal, Equipment, Trade and Sales/Commercial to understand, meet and exceed business requirements. This collaboration should also include direction on Intermodal supplier selection and rates.
Ensure compliance is maintain within Intermodal supplier network which includes contractual agreements, pricing authority and risk avoidance
Liaise with Head Office and Executive Management to support business decisions for current activities and upcoming projects
Provide support to Procurement Director/Vice President, Intermodal in all needed tasks including but not limited to data analysis, presentation, reporting, strategic planning, contract negotiation, process improvement, sourcing technology, system updates and business development.
Liaise with Finance to focus on capturing key budget and economic metrics
Ensure frequent market analysis are performed to include supplier network pricing authority, fuel surcharges and diesel pricing

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent mathematical/financial aptitude, analytical and quantitative data collection skills
Strong systems and business acumen
Ability to utilize fundamental concepts of finance to manage budgets, analyze and forecast costs reduction methods and provide information based on the financial impact of decision making
Proven ability to generate high level reports, facilitate meetings and give presentations
Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to generate ideas that eliminate cost and can be tracked and implemented on time
Ability to assess supplier capabilities and cost analysis
Proven negotiation skills required
