The Production Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves managing a team of production workers, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
This position is on-site and will be based out of our Agawam, MA location.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers.
Ensure production schedules are met, and products meet quality standards.
Monitor and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols.
Train and mentor production staff, providing guidance and support.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.
Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Ensuring that components are available, cut and staged in the proper order to run down the production line in the most efficient manner that meets our customers’ requirements.
Work to cross-train employees on the line to ensure there are back-ups for employees who are absent or on vacation.
Conducts safety and quality audits.
Works closely with the Manager to maintain a safe work environment.
Collaborate with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
Meet or exceed budgeted shipment goals.
Increase productivity and reduce costs to meet or exceed expected margins.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in job field.
Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role.
Strong leadership and team building/management skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Knowledge of production processes and quality control standards.
Ability to work in a demanding environment and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to prioritize and reprioritize production in quick succession.
Ability to work within a team and communicate to upper management as well as down to shop employees.
3+ years minimum leadership responsibilities.
3+ years of experience within a manufacturing operation.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing: One-piece continuous flow, elimination of wasteful steps, 5S, & Kanban.
Computer skills MS suite, mainly excel, word, email
Experience with ERP/MRP/payroll systems
Proven time management skills
