About Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center
Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center and one of the first CCBHCs in Indiana, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.
About the Child and Adolescent Programs at Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center
The child and adolescent teams consist of an outpatient clinical team and a school-based team wherein team members engage clients and their families to address their unique needs. Clients (ages 3-18 years) and families who receive treatment with these team experience a variety of mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. As CCBHC designated clinics in school-based, community-based, and outpatient clinic settings, clients receive individual, family and group therapy, individual and family skills interventions, and case management services in alignment with the nine core services provided by CCBHCs. To support and enhance treatment and client outcomes, this team receives robust training, supervision, and ongoing support in the implementation of evidence-based practices like child-centered play therapy, CBT, TF-CBT, and MET-CBT. Our team members, including psychologists, particularly enjoy the flexibility they have with a 32-hour work week (while still earning a full time salary and benefits) and the autonomy to manage their client schedules so that they can best meet the needs of their clients while enjoying work-life balance.
Where You Fit In
The Clinical Psychologist directs treatment and is responsible for attesting diagnoses and treatment plans for clients and families of the child and adolescent programs. The Clinical Psychologist supports the Clinical Supervisors in the development of team members through their active engagement in staffing and group supervision by guiding development of team members' clinical impressions, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations in school-, community-, and clinic-based settings. This role utilizes a variety of tools to ensure successful treatment outcomes, fidelity to the evidence-based practices noted above as well as fidelity to the CCBHC model. This role also provides a comprehensive range of evaluation and treatment processes for clients and families through bio-psychosocial assessment and psychological evaluation instruments (such as MMPI). This role remains connected to client care and maintains subject matter expertise by also carrying a small caseload of clients.
