Associates degree in Theatre or in a related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Three years related experience. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
This full-time staff member, serves as a member of the College of Arts and Media production team. The position's purpose is to perform skilled work for all scene shop builds, across all units. Supervise student crew and technical theatre duties (including backstage operations), and coordinate production support for events in dance, opera, and film as needed. Must be student-focused and committed to collaborative production assignments and processes.
Serves as a member of the College of Arts and Media production team. Assists with the supervision of the scene shop, scenic construction, and backstage operations. Provides instruction for safely using all equipment and maintain stock scenery and inventory. Assists in maintaining the facilities across CAM. Works with the CAM production team to support production activities across the college as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requires the handling of heavy objects, working in tight spaces and under theatrical lighting conditions, and at heights. CAD drafting skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a student-focused production program required. Requires extreme care and attention to all safety protocols and the supervision of others to do the same. Experience in overhead motorized and counterweight fly systems required.
Works irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the production schedule.
