Must be a US Citizen and will require a Public Trust
@Orchard LLC has been retained by a growing Federal contractor with a great culture to identify an experienced Software Engineer with proficiency in COBOL development to support the Department of Defense. This is a work-from-home position, supporting two different departments with research, design, and the development of computer software. The opportunity is currently in pre-award, and our client will initially extend a contingent letter of intent to hire once the awards are confirmed.
As a Software Engineer, you will.

Support, operate, and maintain essential DFAS Information Systems.
Provide software engineering services under DFAS standards and methods in support of DATAAPS, HQARS, and WIA, which are all unique and standalone systems that do not share components or data flows.
The role will include the provision of planning, architecture development, designing, building, operating, maintaining, and engineering the enterprise information infrastructure architecture and engineering environments for all three systems.
Typical tasks will include high-level systems analysis, design, development, integration, documentation, and implementation of application software within a COBOL environment.
Direct and execute the full software development lifecycle.
Analyze software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Be responsible for the quality of services provided in support of the systems.
Your background will likely include the following.
