Job Title: Data Management Consultant


Rate: $90/hr (up to $100/hr for exceptional candidates)


Start Date: May 5th


Contract Duration: 2 years


Location: Preferred in Minnesota (MN)


Project Overview:


Join our team to work on commercial banking data for customers, primarily using Teradata and SQL. We are currently migrating to Google Cloud Platform.


Key Responsibilities:

• Drive data initiatives independently


• Expertly manage SQL tasks


• Perform data mapping

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud platforms


• Background in financial/banking sectors


• Proficiency in Teradata


• Knowledge of data governance

Job Description:


As a Data Management Consultant, you will oversee, govern, and manage critical data to support business needs, initiatives, and strategies. You will consult with data product, data integrity, technology, and business partners to set standards, policies, and practices for data flow, data framework, data access, documentation, quality, and remediation.


Responsibilities:

• Consult as an expert to develop or influence initiatives and resources for complex business and technical needs across Data Management


• Strategize and resolve complex challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas


• Deliver long-term, large-scale solutions requiring vision, creativity, innovation, and advanced analytical thinking


• Provide expertise to senior leadership on innovative Data Management business solutions


• Engage strategically with personnel

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management, or equivalent through work, consulting experience, training, military experience, or education


• Experience in requirements gathering, data analysis, and data governance


• Self-starter with experience leading requirements sessions


• Strong understanding of the requirements analysis lifecycle, data analysis, data governance, financial experience, and foundational RDBMS expertise


• Emphasis on business and data analysis rather than technology skillset (developers, DBS, etc.)


• Additional responsibilities may include data management, data lineage/metadata, data controls & checks, data control governance, data defect/issue remediation, and documenting data flows/process flows


• Experience in work effort coordination/management, current process assessment, and improvement


• Experience writing business requirements as JIRA stories in Agile Scrum & Kanban environments


• Strong data profiling and data analytics skills


• Proficient in SQL writing (joins, unions, etc.)
