Mainframe Systems Programmer at The Judge Group Inc. in New York, New York

Salary: $60.00 USD Hourly - $70.00 USD Hourly

Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Systems Programmer to support enterprise-level automation and monitoring solutions. In this fully remote contract position, you will design, implement, and maintain policies and configurations for IBM System Automation and Netview, develop REXX/ISPF utilities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline mainframe operations.



What You'll Do

• Manage, define, and implement policy entries within IBM System Automation, including resource relationships, groupings, and message-based event management


• Configure and maintain IBM Netview for automation, monitoring, and event processing


• Develop and enhance REXX scripts, ISPF panels, skeletons, and edit macros to improve delivery pipelines


• Author and maintain JCL and standard mainframe utilities for system operations


• Leverage Netview manager and agent commands (including pipes) for configuration review and troubleshooting


• Utilize SharePoint and Remedy for issue tracking and documentation

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM System Automation and IBM Netview


• Proficiency in REXX development and ISPF application programming


• Solid understanding of JCL and mainframe standard utilities


• Experience with message processing and event management in a mainframe environment


• Familiarity with SharePoint and Remedy ticketing systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous exposure to policy design for large-scale automation deployments


• Demonstrated ability to optimize existing mainframe workflows through scripting and automation


• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a fully remote setting
