Description:

• We are seeking a season technology-focused senior engineer for our data cataloging and ingestion platform development, adoption, and maintenance.
• This is a great opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving the technical leadership and delivery of our enterprise data warehouse and analytics platforms.
• Specifically, you will oversee the development and integration of data cataloging capabilities with cloud-based data assets ensuring our cloud data ecosystem is optimized, scalable, and secure.
• This is an individual contributor role, ideal for a data engineer with cloud experience who thrives in a hands-on technical environment.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data cataloging capabilities across our data ecosystem.

What you have




Technical Oversight:

• Provide technical leadership for the development and operation of the data ingestion platform on the Cloud, ensuring best practices in data movement and cataloging.
• Cloud experience

Tooling Management:

• Lead the design, provisioning, integration, and maintenance of data catalog tooling with the data ingestion platform.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Partner with data application owners, and developers on onboarding and operations within the data ingestion framework to deliver a unified and consistent data ecosystem.
• Consult on best practices, data security, and protection, consumption, and transformation.

Planning:

• Collaborate across the enterprise on plans for onboarding new and existing data assets in the data ingestion platform.

Automation:

• Utilize strong scripting skills to develop automation processes that will accelerate onboarding, provisioning, and data activation.

Infrastructure Management:

• Provide ongoing requirements to cloud platform engineers to support data cataloging and ingestion.
• Participate in collaborative proofs-of-concept, product evaluations, and data tenant testing.

Platform and Framework Support:

• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for tenant ingestion workloads, ensuring availability and robustness.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide resolution, communicating updates and status with relevant stakeholders.

Supervision & Mentorship:

• Provide guidance and technical oversight to junior engineers and vendor contractors, ensuring high-quality execution and fostering professional growth within the team.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 4+ years of experience focused on data engineering within Cloud platforms
• Deep experience in the implementation and rollout of data catalog tooling, and capabilities (CDGC, Dataplex, Collibra, Atlan, etc.)
• Experienced with Google like BigQuery (databases), Cloud Composer & Run(orchestration), BigQuery (databases), Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions
• Advanced Python skills for data ingestion and transformation in a cloud-hosted data analytics ecosystem
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, supervise small engineering teams, and work collaboratively across functions to deliver scalable solutions.
• Experience managing the full lifecycle of cloud services, including provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and decommissioning, with a strong focus on security, compliance, and operational excellence.
