The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager is responsible for collecting and analyzing financial data to ensure timely and accurate reporting, performing financial analysis on monthly & quarterly business performance, and consolidating financial plans based on strategic initiatives. This role will contribute to key business functions, perform trend analysis, and provide data-driven insights to help drive growth and decision making for FORTNA leadership. The FP&A Manager is key to fostering strong finance partnerships throughout the organization and comes with a mix of responsibilities, including supporting financial reporting activities, preparing important month-end reports, and managing the budgeting and forecasting processes. This position reports to the Finance Director.
The ideal candidate will be data-driven, forward-thinking, and have a strong foundation in financial modeling and strategic analysis, with strong communication and collaboration skills. Key Responsibilities:
Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare accurate and timely materials for monthly and quarterly financial reports, presentations and dashboards that highlight key findings and support decision-making
Analyze variance and trend analysis to understand key performance drivers
Optimize and rationalize financial processes to drive consistent reporting practices
Strategic Analysis & Forecasting:
Collaborate with business partners (i.e. operations, sales, strategy, etc.) to develop and maintain accurate financial forecasts, to identify financial risks and opportunities, and to ensure alignment with financial goals.
Lead projects and support key initiatives as assigned. Perform ad-hoc financial and business analysis to develop value-added reporting for leadership
Financial Modeling & Scenario Analysis:
Build and improve financial models, including sensitivity and scenario analysis to inform financial and business decision making.
Develop tools and processes to drive best practices that support our strategic goal
Leverage automation and technology tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
Support Business Operations; provide financial insights to enhance performance through data-driven strategies
Partner and collaborate with Accounting and Project Controls teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Partner and collaborate with Corporate Finance to ensure alignment on financial analysis and reporting
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related technical discipline
4 - 8 years of progressive work experience in FP&A
Strong financial modeling skills required
General ledger experience required
Budgeting and forecasting experience required
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical skills with ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize data
Strong work ethic and ability to develop relationships across the organization
Detail Oriented, professional demeanor and strong organization skills
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Proficiency with ERP & BI Platforms
Experience with project-based and discrete goods finances
Experience with financial software such as Planful, Adaptive & Workday Financials or similar tools.
The base salary range for this role is $100,700.00 to $151,100.00. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
