Reporting directly to the Division President, The HR Manager works closely with senior staff to achieve our goals in serving our most valuable resource - our family of associates - in all areas of the Human Resources function.
Job Duties:
Responsible for leading the HR function at the Fargo location for both Cash-Wa Distributing of Fargo and HJH Logistics, LLC.
Promotes and models company mission, vision and values; works to integrate company culture within all departments at all levels.
Oversees compliance with federal and state DOL laws and regulations, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, Title VII, NLRA, FLSA, OSHA, and MN ESST and PFLA.
Designs and facilitates training for staff and management on HR related topics and processes.
Oversees/updates company policies as needed. Includes responsibility for company handbook updates for legal compliance and policy changes.
Directs the work of the HR Administrator and/or Generalist; covers tasks when necessary.
Works cross-functionally with other department heads on staffing needs, compensation, coaching, disciplinary actions, hiring and terminations, and any other HR related needs.
Works to optimize usage of HRIS system modules to improve processes and workflows.
Processes payroll.
Oversees Worker’s Compensation and Unemployment. Works with other departments as needed to educate management on these processes.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field strongly preferred, but may consider equivalent combination of education and work experience.
SHRM-CP or PHR required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience required; Generalist experience preferred.
Excellent people management skills.
Experience with union contract administration strongly preferred.
Some travel required.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong organization skills/attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
Proficient computer skills in Office 365, with strong Excel skills, including use of pivot tables.
Passionately interested in the Human Resource field!

Frequent stand/walk throughout all office areas.
Constant use of both hands/arms, in reaching/grasping/fingering while performing desktop activities and keyboarding.

Occasional bend/squat/kneel while filing or retrieving materials from lower areas.
Constant use of sight/hearing/speech necessary to perform essential job functions.
Able to prioritize workload.
Requires good communication and interpersonal skills both on the phone and in person.
