The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for supporting the mortgage process by collecting, validating, reviewing and organizing all the required documentation for a residential mortgage application. The incumbent will work closely with loan officers and underwriters to ensure timely processing of loan applications.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for reviewing mortgage loan application data for completeness and accuracy.
Responsible for verifying all income, funds, and credit information to complete the underwriting checklist.
Communicate with loan originator or member to request any missing or required documentation.
Responsible for validating data entry in the mortgage system and resubmitting the loan to automated underwriting.
Responsible for ordering appraisal, flood certification, and title work according to established guidelines.
Responsible for updating the mortgage system to record documentation that is requested and received and following up to ensure the requests are completed.
Responsible for submitting the completed loan file to Underwriting for final decision.
Responsible for communication with the member, originator, and realtor regarding the processing status of the loan.
Manage multiple loan files to ensure accuracy and deadlines are met
Responsible for staying current on all communicated compliance information and following guidelines to issue compliant documents.
Accountable for performance management goals as defined by the operations manager
Accountable for understanding and applying government laws and regulations and Everwise policies and procedures relating to the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.
Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the credit union.
Knowledge/Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to analyze loan applications documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with investor guidelines
Thorough knowledge of FNMA guidelines and procedures
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and mortgage systems applications, including but not limited to: Encompass, WebXtender, XP2, and additional vendor website applications
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
1+ year experience in mortgage lending.
Knowledge of RESPA and Regulation Z is a plus
