Summary:


As the Vice President of VSN Sales, you will be responsible for creating and executing the sales strategy to maintain and grow existing customer relationships and revenue and also acquire new customers consistent with company objectives. 


Responsibilities include:



  • Strategic leadership, execution, and leadership development. 

  • Effective sales talent staffing, development, and pro-active management of team member performance. 

  • Also, key are the identification, implementation and management of best practices, sales processes, and new business development initiatives. 

  • Must meet or exceed sales objectives, expense control and gross margin targets. 

  • Must have the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross functional environment consistent with our Purpose Mission and Values.


What You'll Do:




  • Sales Strategy & Planning:

    • Lead and manage a team of sales leaders and other personnel as appropriate or required cross the United States and Canada.

    • Create and execute strategies for developing new business and growing our share of wallet with existing customers.

    • Achieve all assigned company objectives.

    • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting sufficient to meet company objectives along with strategies to accelerate success.

    • Provide alerts and remediate shortfalls of forecast to actual as appropriate.

    • Be a visible and valuable resource to our top customers, prospects and internal business partners and key vendors.

    • Personally add value in the sales and retention process.

    • Develop strong relationships with VSN customers, prospects and service providers in the Physical Security space.

    • Ensure that the sales team utilizes company’s CRM platform (D365) in accordance with company directives.

    • Assist with the creation of staff compensation and incentive programs that responsibly drive critical business outcomes.

    • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.

    • Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful support, channel and partner programs.

    • Assist VP of Marketing in establishing long-term strategic marketing and sales plans consistent with identified high growth (Supply Chain) and opportunity market segments for maximization of resources, revenues, and profit.




  • Sales Execution:

    • Makes presentations to and negotiate with executive level customers.

    • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities.

    • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships.




  • Sales Management:

    • Facilitate daily, weekly and monthly meetings with team.

    • Manage the sales teams, operations and resources to deliver profitable growth.

    • Hire and develop sales team and sales management. Also pro-active manage of team member performance.

    • Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable team to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives.

    • Work with team to ensure excellence with every customer contact.

    • Put in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function.




What You'll Need:




  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

    • Must have an understanding of how to conduct business at an elevated level.




  • Industry/Relevant Sales Job Knowledge:

    • 10+ years of relevant direct sales experience selling within the commercial industry.

    • Knowledge of contract negotiating for large value contracts including standard and non-standard Terms and Conditions.

    • Must be able to sell - prospect, qualify, pursue, close, address objections and understand our product offerings and services.




  • Experience of Educational Equivalent:

    • 10-years of management and/or educational equivalent along with industry financial background and desire for continued professional development. 

    • Working knowledge of business practices and principles a must.

    • In order to promote company objectives and directives must be able to understand aspects of business administration, accounting and marketing.




  • Management Experience:

    • 10+ years of sales management experience with a proven ability to manage, motivate and lead a team of professionals. 

    • Experience must include pipeline management, strategy execution, and growth/team development. 

    • It is essential to be able to develop team incentives that motivate staff to achieve sales targets.




  • Leadership Skills:

    • Must be able to influence potential customers and internal sales team to think and act strategically when qualifying opportunities, developing sales positioning messages, solution scope, etc.




  • Exceptional Communication/Interpersonal Skills:

    • Must possess mature skills with the ability to effectively and intelligently communicate (both written and orally) with all levels of management, peers, customers and potential customers. 

    • Must be comfortable presenting in-person and via conference calls/WebEx.




  • Results Oriented:

    • Driven and goal-oriented professional with mental toughness to weather the ups and downs of a mid to long sales cycles.




  • Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving Skills:

    • Lead and execute a disciplined sales process over time to maximize potential from sales efforts. 

    • Careful audit and reporting of sales teams’ performance must be accurate for commission payouts.




  • Organizational Skills:

    • Must be able to manage a large number of projects and tasks. 

    • Meeting all deadlines is critical to the success of this position.




  • Ability to Travel:

    • 40% travel for Customer Meetings, Sales Meetings and Trade Shows.

    • Must be aware of the impact of individual expenses and controls these expenses at all times.
