The Group Insurance Actuarial team is looking for a proactive and adaptable individual who is eager to learn and leverage their technical skills to make meaningful contributions to our disability product line. This position focuses on supporting the group disability product, offering hands-on experience in pricing, valuation, assumption setting, and financial forecasting. This role offers the exciting opportunity to work closely with other business areas including the finance, claim operations, underwriting, and product teams, enhancing your understanding and impact across business areas.
What you can expect:
• Develop analysis to identify underlying business trends, supporting sound decision making
• Create innovative solutions that streamline routine business processes and improve efficiency
• Collaborate within a small team of actuaries gaining experience in several actuarial functions
• Leverage technical skills and judgment to set actuarial assumptions, with the opportunity to communicate results to business leaders
• Learn and implement best practices for model documentation, testing, and governance
What you’ll need:
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, computer science, or related field
• Strong technical and analytical skills, essential for developing accurate actuarial analyses
• Self-motivated individual with desire to learn independently and from others
• Ability to be flexible and manage several requests at once
• Strong communication and collaboration skills that complement technical abilities
It’d be a plus if you had:
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Python, SQL
• Successful completion of at least 1 actuarial exam with desire to attain credentials
• Relevant internship experience
