Position Overview



Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Temporary Accounting Manager to join their team in the District of Columbia. The Accounting Manager will supervise a small team of accounting clerks providing an opportunity for you to lead and mentor while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GAAP accounting with proven leadership skills.



Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.


• Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.


• Coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes.


• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve financial operations.


• Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support.


• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.


• Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations.


• Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and projections.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.


• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.


• Excellent leadership and team management skills.


• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required Work Hours



The position requires availability from Monday to Friday, in a hybrid setting.



Additional Details



This position is a supervisory role, providing leadership and direction to the accounting team.


Competitive salary with a minimum pay of $45 per hour.
