Position Overview



Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a temporary position in Northern Virginia. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy managing financial records and working collaboratively within a small accounting team to ensure smooth financial operations.



Responsibilities

• Manage organizational accounting activities, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, journal entries, fixed asset records, and monthly and annual close processes.


• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual government filings, and payroll tax returns.


• Support the annual audit process with preparation of schedules and other materials in partnership with CPA firm.


• Complete monthly bank reconciliations.


• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and analysis of general ledger balances.


• Assist in training internal teams on accounting policies and procedures.


• Comfortable collaborating with other departments to gather information and resolve issues.


• Participate in special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience in full charge bookkeeping.


• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.


• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.


• Adaptability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Required Work Hours



Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM



Benefits



Competitive pay range of $30 to $38 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
