Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the products and suppliers, ensuring flawless cross-functional relationships with departments such as Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the product categories, including customer applications, competitor analysis, and market demands.
Act as the primary owner of numerous non-strategic supplier relationships, handling categories and suppliers exceeding $50M.
Deploy strategies to source, negotiate, contract, and implement programs that drive revenue and profitability growth.
Maintain accurate product and supplier information in our digital environment and internal systems.
Secure supplier funding for marketing initiatives, sales meetings, and other promotional activities, ensuring efficient spending each year.
Prepare for and conduct data analysis and quarterly business reviews with key suppliers.
Support various financial and operational initiatives through ad hoc requests and data analysis.
Collaborate with Portfolio Managers to drive workflow training and engagement with technical sales teams.
Requirements
Proven experience in product management or a related field.
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strict attention to detail and ability to prioritise effectively.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
3+ years of industry or other relevant market experience, preferably in portfolio or supplier management.
Knowledge of laboratory products and applications, actual working laboratory experience, or understanding of customer requirements in laboratory settings.
Sales, marketing, or other commercial functional knowledge preferred.
Ability to develop/implement strategies and recommendations based on both quantitative and qualitative inputs with basic understanding of financial drivers.
Strong proficiency in multi-tasking experience with exceptional organization and time-management skills.
General business insight with a basic understanding of financial data and reporting methodologies, various performance metrics and value analyses.
Strong skills with Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn/adapt to new productivity tools.
