ASSOCIATE TECHNICIAN - TECHNICIAN - Petroleum Products Research at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas

Who We Are:


The Petroleum Products Research Department is a world class petroleum chemistry laboratory that helps our clients ensure the quality of the fuels and lubricants used in the transportation industry for both today's vehicles and the vehicles of tomorrow. Objectives of this Role:

• To ensure and improve the quality control, compliance and efficiency of petroleum products in the automotive industry.


• Assist in preparing a high volume of samples for testing in the Fuels Laboratory.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Prepare gasoline samples for GC analysis by weight/volume using an analytical balance, pipette and glassware.


• Assist in splitting and organizing gasoline samples, washing glassware, cleaning laboratory work areas and disposing of spent gasoline and chemicals.


• Assist in maintaining laboratory stock by retrieving supplies from an on-site stockroom.

Requirements:

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Chemistry courses helpful.


• 0-2 years years: Related work experience of working in a laboratory.


• Must be able to adhere to all safety requirements


• Must be available to work shift work and overtime when needed and good attendance is required.


• General computer experience is required.


• A valid/clear driver's license is required.
