What to Expect


The G-Core Tech Engineer is responsible for maintaining G-Core application and will focus on the technical stack requirements and provide strategic guidance to both the internal development team and offshore development partners to ensure smooth operations and high-quality deliverables. In addition, this position will play a key role in implementing CI/CD pipelines and integrating Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices for enhanced reliability and performance as well as support environment patching, deployments, and other activities.


What You Will Do


1. Design and Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Java applications.

• Develop and optimize PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers to enhance database performance and functionality.

• Tune SQL queries for performance.

• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.

• Work with Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs etc and distributed architectures.

• Optimize application performance, debugging, and troubleshooting complex issues.

2. Process Improvement

• Develop technical roadmap to modernize the legacy applications.

• Define and enforce best practices for Developers.

• Define Integration and Batch standards for enterprise application such has error handling, Logging, performance requirements etc.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Dev, QA, Ops) to improve system efficiency.

• Mentor Dev. team (both onsite and offshore) and help in knowledge sharing across teams

3. DevOps

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket or GitHub, JFrog, SonarQube, Jira etc.

• Automate build, test, and deployment processes to enable continuous delivery.

• Integrate security scanning, compliance checks, and performance testing into pipelines.

4. SRE

• Design and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient systems.

• Manage incidents, perform root cause analysis, and post-mortem processes.

• Define and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Error Budgets.

• Automate deployments and build scalable and self-healing systems.



Qualifications




What You Will Bring


• Minimum 5-7 years related experience in Java/J2EE design, development, particularly in large-scale, enterprise-level applications.

• Experience in Microservices architecture and development.

• Experience with large database (like Oracle) and development tools like SQL & PLSQL.

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins etc.) and Security tools and frameworks (JFrog, SonarQube, Fortify, etc.).

• Experience with testing framework.

• Experience with WebLogic Server setup, maintenance, and optimization.

• Bachelor's degree in software development, computer engineering or related field.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong skills in Java (J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring, JDBC, Hibernate, SOAP, RESTful APIs, XML, JSON etc.).

• Demonstrated skills in modernizing legacy applications (old software systems) with modern technologies, architectures, and best practices including migrating monolithic application to microservices architecture, upgrading the programming languages and framework, Improving application performance, security and scalability etc.

• Strong knowledge in Microservices architecture and development

• Proven track record in implementing DevSecOps methodologies and tools in cloud-native environments.

• Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including SLIs, SLOs, and monitoring strategies.

• Effectively troubleshoot any issues across all environments.



Work Environment


Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.
