Departmental Objective:

Process financial transactions in accordance with State and University policies and procedures.


Purpose of the Position:

This position is responsible for processing specific accounting transactions and controlling input into the State accounting system (Cardinal) and the University's accounting system (SCT Banner) as well as reconciling transactions in both systems monthly.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position:

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures


Knowledge in computerized accounting systems


Excellent leadership skills


Excellent oral and written skills


Excellent time management, teamwork and interpersonal skills


Excellent word processing and spreadsheet software skills


Ability to analyze fiscal transactions and reports for conformity with procedures and regulations


Ability to research and perform complex analysis, reconcile financial data and prepare documentation to support findings


Ability to train and direct the work of supporting staff


Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :


Education: High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma.



Experience:


  • Previous accounting experience.

  • Previous work experience in an office environment researching, collecting, and analyzing complex financial data and processing correcting entries.

  • Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software.


Additional Consideration(s):


Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or related field; or high school diploma or equivalent with any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that equates to the degree requirement.



Experience:


  • Experience working with financial statements.

  • Experience working in general accounting.

  • Supervisory experience.

  • Experience with Banner.

  • Experience with Cardinal.

  • Experience using Excel and Word.


Salary Information:

Starting at $57,254, Commensurate with Education and Experience
