This position is responsible for providing academic assistance and mentoring for students in a particular discipline. Provides individualized and small group tutoring as well as workshops covering specific content and disciplines. Responsibilities include planning and designing tutoring programs and activities while working collaboratively with faculty and staff. Focused on student learning and the achievement of students' careers and educational goals.

1. Attends meetings with supervisory staff on a regular basis.
2. Assists the Instructional Assistant, Sr (or designee) with the planning and development of the student tutoring program.
3. Assists the Instructional Assistant, Sr with the development and analysis measuring instruments.
4. Assists with lesson plans for the student tutoring program.
5. Interacts with the faculty in obtaining lesson plans.
6. Assists with the maintenance of the accurate information.
7. Participates and completes assigned professional development training.
8. Provides individualized and small group tutoring instruction and workshops.
9. Documents student progress for each session using provided instruments.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related discipline.
Teaching and tutoring experience.
Experience coordinating student events and activities.
Experience implementing and designing tutoring programs.
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus.
