About the job:
Ensure the facility is adequately staffed, as well as making sure our residents are receiving daily nursing care and services
Essentials (Scheduling):
Develop and maintain employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off and cover for absenteeism.
Partner with the Human Resources, Dietary, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Laundry, Activities managers along with nursing leadership to develop, implement, and manage all recruiting and selection activities and processes for the facility.
Work with Payroll /Accounts Payable personnel to verify payroll accuracy.
Process employee vacation requests and monitor overtime accumulation for employees.
Partner with the Human Resources Manager for interviews and General Orientation regarding schedules and pay policies.
Follow the Affirmative Action Plan.
Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of each department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for difference of opinions over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, supportiveness, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed.
Communicate regularly with Executive Director, other managers, directors and other designated contacts within the organization.
In conjunction with the Human Resources Manager or designee, ensures that agency employees have the legal requirements prior to assigning them duty in the facility.
Communicate all employees' status changes to the H.R. Administrator and the Business Office personnel.
Creating reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to monitor productive hours. These reports are to be sent to the management team.
Monitor and verify attendance occurrences in accordance with the attendance policy; write up corrective actions as needed for all staff.
Attends required in-services and completes assigned on-line modules.

Requires 4-year degree or equivalent work experience.
At least three (3) years of broad recruitment and staffing experience in healthcare or long-term care.
Requires basic management and leadership skills in order to function independently with little or no supervision.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with a variety of individuals and the site leadership.
Ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to hold employees accountable to policies.
Proven ability to multi-task, finish projects and assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Strong and effective oral and written communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Knowledge and/or experience in human resources and budgeting.
Skill in using technology and other electronic devices for tasks such as scheduling, timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
