We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Machine Operator, specializing in operating either a Turret or a Laser machine. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient operation of the assigned machine, ensuring that metal parts are cut or formed to meet production specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in manufacturing with a focus on CNC machine operation.
This position requires someone that has a willingness to learn the art of CNC Machine Operation and has the motivation to grow within the department. To move to the next level, progression will be at the manager's discretion, in addition to passing the skills test for the next level. Team Members must remain in the current class for a minimum of 90 days.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Operate either a Turret or Laser machine to cut, punch, or form metal parts according to blueprints and work orders.
Material Handling: Load and unload metal sheets or parts into the machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate operation.
Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy, measurements, and conformity to specifications. Make minor adjustments to ensure high-quality output.
Basic Machine Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on the machine, including cleaning, lubricating, and reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Documentation: Record production data, including job completion times, material usage, and any issues encountered during the production process.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required.
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
Basic understanding of machine operations and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings (training provided).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks and responsibilities.
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
Physical ability to lift and move metal sheets or parts, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
