As a key member of the Albireo team, the Field Engineer will be responsible for:

  • On-Site Engineering & System Implementation
    • Performing field engineering for building automation systems (BAS) in commercial office buildings, data centers, and pharmaceutical facilities.
    • Conducting site surveys, reviewing project specifications, and assessing system requirements to ensure proper integration and functionality.
    • Supporting the installation, commissioning, and testing of building automation and control systems.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Providing technical assistance to installation teams, commissioning teams, and service divisions to ensure system performance and reliability.
    • Troubleshooting and resolving BMS integration issues, including software, hardware, and network-related problems.
    • Collaborating with project teams to identify and correct field modifications and discrepancies.
  • Project Coordination & Documentation
    • Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, and project details received from the sales team to ensure alignment with project objectives.
    • Assisting with the procurement of necessary equipment and materials for system installation.
    • Preparing and updating technical documentation, including as-built drawings, point-to-point wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, valve and damper schedules, and bill of materials.
    • Submitting RFIs (Request for Information) to project teams and clients as needed to clarify system requirements.
  • System Optimization & Integration
    • Ensuring compliance with project-specific sequences of operations and control strategies.
    • Assisting in the development and enhancement of graphical user interfaces for BAS systems.
    • Working with application engineers and project managers to optimize system performance and efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Attending project meetings and providing field insights to support project planning and scheduling.
    • Acting as a liaison between field technicians, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure seamless execution of automation projects.
    • Providing input for continuous improvement of company standards and engineering processes.
This role requires strong technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in the field while collaborating with cross-functional teams.



Requirements



  • One to three (1-3) years' experience and an engineering degree (BSME or BSEE) from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industrial HVAC applications, ability to read and understand MEP drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding flow dynamics to apply the appropriate measuring devices, control valve selection, and sizing.
  • Knowing industry-standard communication protocols; Ethernet, Modbus, BACnet or Lon to provide system network diagrams and integration to 3rd party equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Microsoft Visio is a plus.
  • Experience in BAS programming or software engineering.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Rate: $30-$40/hr. DOE.
