Moderna is seeking a Decision Science Lead to drive advanced analytics and data-driven insights that inform critical commercial decisions. This role will serve as a strategic partner to Marketing, Sales, and Medical Affairs, leveraging real-world data and emerging AI-driven methodologies to enhance decision-making and execution.
The successful candidate will lead a lean team of high-performing analytics professionals while also functioning as a hands-on expert in AI-driven analytics, commercial data strategy, and omnichannel insights. This role will be responsible for shaping Moderna's global analytics capability, integrating advanced statistical modeling, real-world data, and decision science to maximize business impact.
This position reports to the Vice President, Global Commercial Strategy and will have a global scope, partnering closely with local markets to drive data-driven decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to build a scalable, best-in-class Decision Science capability that informs key decisions and shapes Moderna's continued growth.
Here's What You'll Do
Strategic Leadership & Team Development:
Lead and develop a high performing team, driving global best practices in commercial decision science.
Serve as the senior strategic analytics partner to commercial, sales, and medical teams, shaping global decision-making through advanced analytics.
Shape and implement best practices for AI-driven analytics and insights within commercial, optimizing business impact through data science.
Partner with senior stakeholders to integrate analytics into business planning, go-to-market strategy, and execution.
AI-Driven Commercial Insights & Execution:
Customer 360 Profile: Develop an integrated view of customers (HCPs, accounts, consumers) by leveraging AI-driven segmentation, engagement data, and real-world insights.
Go-To-Market Planning: Use advanced segmentation, targeting, and predictive modeling to optimize marketing campaigns and launch strategies.
Omnichannel Measurement & Optimization: Build a scalable analytics framework that attributes marketing impact, optimizes media mix, and enhances engagement through AI-driven recommendation systems.
Next Best Action & Decision Support: Develop real-time AI-powered tools and dashboards that guide field and digital teams in commercial execution.
Lead Global Data Strategy & Governance:
Lead the development of a global commercial data strategy, ensuring robust, high-quality real world data supports analytics-driven decision -making.
Collaborate with country teams and cross-functional partners to ensure access to high-quality real-world healthcare data (sales, claims, EMR/EHR, labs, digital engagement, etc.).
Oversee the management, quality, and governance of third-party data, working closely with Moderna's Digital organization to implement master data management best practices.
Ensure that data infrastructure supports scalable AI/ML-driven analytics while maintaining regulatory compliance and integrity.
Data Science, AI, and Emerging Technologies:
Drive AI-powered predictive analytics, leveraging generative AI, deep learning, and other data science methodologies to enhance decision-making.
Implement AI-driven automated insights, performance diagnostics, and workflow optimization to increase analytics speed and accuracy.
Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous AI/ML adoption across commercial teams.
Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or commercial insights within healthcare or life sciences, with demonstrated leadership in AI-driven analytics and decision science.
Master's degree or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, AI/ML, Economics).
Experience leading global analytics initiatives, integrating inputs from multiple stakeholders, and delivering locally relevant insights.
Strong expertise in real-world healthcare data (sales, claims, EMR/EHR, labs, digital engagement, etc.).
Experience managing and developing a team, with a track record of building high-performing analytics teams.
