JOB DESCRIPTION:

Plans and executes sales targets and activities for Aftermarket services, in order to increase sales with all kinds of potential customers

Essential Functions

  • Maintain customer account contact through regular personal visits, as well as telephone and written contacts. Establish professional and personal relationships with key decision makers at each account.
  • Responsible for development of new potential customer accounts and reactivation of dormant or neglected accounts.
  • Actively promote and facilitate the negotiation and presentation of proposals, receipt of purchases, orders and thereafter assist the customer with expediting activity in cooperation with NYAB Watertown.
  • Coordinate field service activity in the territory including marketing visits by Engineering, Quality Assurance and Field Engineering departments.
  • Periodically review overall customer order activity, to identify accounts which may have decreased in order activity and develop corrective action plans.
  • Maintain personal and office administrative files (expense accounts, forecasts, budgets) in a timely manner.
  • Provide Customers with technical bulletins, catalogs, price lists, etc. as available.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of company products, policies and procedures.
  • Acquire and communicate to management competitive information whenever possible.
  • Manage all facets of identified accounts as assigned; both technical and commercial
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
  • To address customer needs, an individual that is domiciled in Atlanta, GA or Jacksonville, FL is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional work habits-high degree of self-motivation.
  • Knowledge of freight and/or locomotive brake and related systems, AAR, FRA regulations, requirements and related publications.
  • Must have complete knowledge of operation and application of company products and repairs, both individually and systematically when integrated into railroad train systems.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

The employee will be required to perform duties on a computer terminal. The employee may be exposed to rail yard and shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, uneven surfaces, dust/dirt etc. Must be fully aware of all applicable safety rules, including but not limited to use of Personal Protective Equipment, KB and Individual Railroad safety rules.

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of an office work environment position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 Years of Relevant Experience
