SUNY Maritime College invites applications for three Adjuncts of Mathematics to teach courses at the Calculus II level and below, with the possibility of leading recitation sessions. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, effective teaching strategies, and the ability to support students in foundational mathematics courses. Responsibilities include: delivering lectures, conducting assessments, holding office hours, and potentially facilitating recitation sessions to reinforce key concepts. Typical students are majoring in engineering, marine transportation, marine environmental science, international transportation and trade, or maritime studies, with the majority simultaneously pursuing a U.S. Coast Guard license.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be able to teach Pre-Calculus and Calculus at the college level
  • A minimum of a master's degree in mathematics or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience at the college level


Additional Information:

Classification/Salary Range: The Adjunct Lecturer position is a part-time UUP position. Minimum three-credit course or equivalent course is $4,000. Special Notes: This is a part time per semester or academic year appointment. Fair Labor Standard Acts (FLSA) Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
