The Business Development Engineer (BDE) for Educational Solutions acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for MEAU’s Workforce Development program, engaging in a variety of activities in support of the program, including but not limited to product and resource development, commercial sales, marketing and promotion, and technical support. The BDE will lead growth initiatives for the program by maintaining a healthy pipeline of sales opportunities with new and existing educational accounts. In addition, the BDE will grow our network of Educational Partner schools by seeking strategic partnerships with educational institutions nearby key and target Mitsubishi Electric customers, while nurturing and expanding partnership activities with existing Educational Partner schools. The BDE will exhibit and utilize demo equipment, engage in the development of products and educational resources, and work to improve our overall educational solutions offering, in order to expose future customers, students, partners, and non-traditional clients to the Mitsubishi Electric brand.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Establish and support a comprehensive network of educational partners with educational institutions such as High Schools, Technical Colleges, Universities, Workforce Training Centers, and other outlets throughout North America.

· Successfully build relationships, perform proper discovery, advocate products & solutions, and provide support for targeted educational partners from a commercial and technical aspect in an effort to achieve business development goals for Mitsubishi Electric Automation.

· Execute new educational partner agreements and training center agreements with educational institutions.

· Manage and grow relationships with existing educational partners by working closely with key decision makers and influencers.

· Establish a sustainable presence of Mitsubishi Electric robots, CNCs, PLCs, and other Industrial Automation equipment throughout the United States by creating new partnerships with High Schools, Technical Colleges, Universities, STEM organizations, and other outlets.

· Serve as the main point of contact for all Workforce Development program activities, including Certifications, Training, technical support, sales support, and educational resource development.

· Generate discovery agreements and proposals to meet customer specifications.

· Provide technical training courses on MEAU’s educational simulators to educational partners, customers, dealers, and MEAU personnel; both on-site and at MEAU’s facility

· Support all trade show activities related to our Workforce Development program.

· Lead the development of MEAU educational resources such as creating curriculum, educational exercises, Certification exams, and alignment of MEAU content with industry organizations like SACA.

· Support dedicated educational Resellers with technical support, certification activities, joint sales calls and ride-alongs, and be a point of contact for Resellers representing MEAU’s educational product line.

· Consistently generate new leads, follow-up, and manage a sustainable pipeline of new sales opportunities.

· Promote MEAU’s educational equipment to High Schools, Technical Colleges and Universities.

- Ensure that the equipment is integrated as an active part of school curriculums and lesson plans.

- Track student enrollment numbers annually with Educational Partner schools that have integrated MEAU educational equipment and/or curriculum.

· Document activities in CRM and provide timely reports.

· Provide monthly and annual business plan.

· Attain monthly and yearly KPI’s established by management.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

· 50% travel based on customer demand, primarily throughout North America.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor of Science Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent work experience.

· Minimum of two years of professional experience in workforce development, training, community outreach or public relations.

· Knowledge of CNC, Robot and other Automation equipment.

· Experience collaborating with higher education institutions.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills with customers, colleagues and outside vendors.

· Computer proficiency – knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

· Knowledge of how to create and maintain reports in Excel is required.

· Dynamic and customer-focused attitude.

PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

· Must be physically able to travel, including the ability to:

- Sit for extended periods of time for the purposes of travel

- Operate a motor vehicle for both short and long distances

- Fly via commercial flights, both nationally and internationally as needed

· Ability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently for activities such as moving demo equipment to and from events.

· Ability to move about the MEAU plant and other facilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

· Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn and master the use of MEAU products.

· Ability to actively prioritize tasks with limited direction.

· Flexible work style with the ability to navigate changing priorities.

The listed salary range is approximate and reflects the anticipated compensation for this position as determined by salary analysis; both internal and external to MEAU. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience. Compensation may also vary due to market factors. MEAU retains the right to adjust compensation based on business needs.

Expected Salary: $80k - $92k
