Position SummaryThe Regional Yard Manager will be responsible for overseeing the regional yard and warehouse team ensuring non-mechanical inventories are maintained and accurate, fleet vehicle coordination and assignments are consistent with Company policy, DOT compliance is maintained, personnel assets (cell phones, computers, etc.) are properly managed, and all yard invoicing and billing items are timely completed. The position requires a blend of strategic and tactical thinking, administrative expertise, operational knowledge and safety. Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor direct reports, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for professional development.
Work closely with Equipment and Logistic managers to develop regional yard strategy.
Assists Yard director in regional yard financial modeling and profit projecting.
Provide and ensure a high level of customer service is the focus of the yard team.
Evaluate the performance of direct reports, team and ensure all team members are communicated with on their performance through regular EMC meetings.
Oversee Yard/Warehouse team, Fleet team, and Billings / Invoicing team to deliver positive customer service experience, adhere to company policy and maintain profitability.
Accountable for maintaining organization of the yard and ensuring yard inventories are updated and accurate.
Accountable for ensuring Southern region is adhering to company vehicle policy and communicating accordingly with leadership on process driving that policy.
Accountable for timely processing and payment of received invoices and required billings to projects.
Develop, plan, and implement departmental goals and objectives.
Maintain accurate records of financial information to conduct monthly, quarterly and annual profit projections.
Assist with preparation, administration, and managing annual operating budget for the regional yard.
Assist Equipment Manager in evaluating capital investment strategy, needs/disposals and development of overall regional equipment fleet strategy.
Cooperate with regional yard managers in standardization of yard financial reporting.
Assist Equipment Manager in conducting annual equipment rate evaluations and updates in cooperation with the national yard team.
Assist Logistics Manager to ensure Major Project requests are being timely invoiced and billed.
Qualifications
10+ years’ experience in related field or equivalent technical background.
Minimum of 8 years supervisory experience.
Experience with construction planning
Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and critical thinking skills required.
Excellent planning and program development skills.
General knowledge of construction principles/practices and equipment required.
Ability to travel throughout McCarthy working regions as needed.
Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment.
