A DAY IN THE LIFE



In this role, a successful candidate will conduct environmental site investigations, assessments and surveys including the sampling, measurement and analysis of groundwater, soil, surface water, and sediment. Identify, evaluate, and recommend assessment, risk, and remediation strategies/designs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare technical documents including proposals, reports, and regulatory agency correspondence. Reduce, extrapolate, and present data for client and regulatory review. Projects may include Phase I environmental site assessments, remediation investigations, long-term monitoring and reporting, site remediation and restoration, and storm water pollution prevention plan and spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan development.


  • Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.


  • Conduct sampling of groundwater, soil and other environmental media and assist in the analysis and interpretation of data.


  • Supervise subcontractors performing geophysical surveys, direct push/drilling investigations, and implementation of environmental remediation.


  • Prepare reports, tables, maps, drawings, and visual aids to evaluate, plan and obtain regulatory approval on project recommendations.


  • Implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.


  • May have limited client contact pertaining to specific projects/tasks.


  • Maintain confidentiality at all times


  • Exercise safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs


  • Participate in the company's continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts


  • Keep up-to-date and current on industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops


  • Perform other duties as assigned



YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS



To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Engineering, Geology, or other related science field.


  • 3+ years of relevant environmental remediation experience


  • Ability to obtain Professional Registration is a plus


  • Experience with GIS is a plus.


  • Valid driver's license, ability to travel and obtain security clearance at federal installations.


  • This position can be physically demanding and will require work in various working environments/conditions which requires that an individual be physically capable of canvassing large project areas by foot on various terrain and potentially in inclement weather


  • Work environment will vary greatly depending on nature of assigned tasks


  • Local travel up to 50%


  • Occasional overnight travel
