The Period of Performance (POP) is through 30 June 2025 but will most likely be extended through March 2026. This is an onsite role with a 9x80 (9,9,9,9,8- 1st week, 9,9,9,9 off Friday-2nd week) work schedule.
Overview
Aegis Aerospace, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, is seeking an experienced Testbed Lead to drive the development, integration, and execution of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) and Systems Integration Lab (SIL) testing for the Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV) mission. This role is pivotal in ensuring the MAV's test environment accurately simulates real-world conditions, enabling mission success for NASA's Mars Sample Return (MSR) initiative.
As the Testbed Lead, you will oversee system integration, verification, and validation efforts by leading a team of engineers in designing and managing test environments. Your work will directly contribute to the success of one of the most ambitious space exploration missions in history.

Responsibilities
Provide technical oversight and lead the development & integration of the Government Owned-Contractor Operated (GOCO) Systems Integration Lab (SIL)
Lead the daily operation of the SIL facility
Plan the daily, weekly, and long term SIL facility
Perform as key resource for the SIL facility on test planning and operations
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must presently be a US Citizen
A bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field from an accredited college is required
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in system integration, testing, and project leadership in the aerospace or defense industry beyond academia is required
Competence with systems architecture tools (Cameo, Rhapsody, etc), requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and analysis (e.g., MATLAB)
Previous experience standing up and managing a Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) testbed, including ability to estimate level of effort needed to develop testbed
Previous experience developing cases to be executed in a HWIL
Previous experience developing requirements to capture required testbed capabilities
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field from an accredited college
Familiarity with Mars mission architectures, propulsion systems, or spaceflight hardware
Experience working with government contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and contractual requirements
Strong background in risk management, verification and validation (V&V) and flight software testing
Proficiency in scripting for automating structural analysis execution and modeling
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for documentation, communication, and collaboration
