As an EHS Intern you will work with department personnel in a learning environment to understand and assist in basic safety, environmental, and property loss programs. Activities include inspecting machinery and working conditions, assist with training exercises, and assist with writing instructions to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health and environmental regulations. This is obtained by performing the following duties:
Assist in data collection, organization, and preparation.
Assist in maintaining records of internal and external environmental communications.
Assists in certain vendor related activities such as inspections and testing schedules including property loss inspections.
Assists with emergency response activities or emergency drills.
Collects data for the environmental and safety management system.
Participates in Employee Safety Committee and other selected meetings.
Collects and updates plant chemical and safety data sheet information.
Participates in industrial inspections involving machine safety, personal protective equipment, fire prevention, accident investigations and exposure hazards.
Work time may include all shifts.
Your Experience & Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree (B. S.) program in a four-year college or university. Declared major must be Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering, or similar degree program.
