Plan and prepare electrical work packages for the Nuclear Projects organization, covering both large- and small-scale projects. Ensure that projects are executed safely, reliably, and efficiently, adhering to company policies, procedures, and applicable codes and standards.
Principal Accountabilities:
Develop and prepare work instructions for electrical and contract maintenance organizations, guiding project implementation and modifications.
Select and approve purchases or make procurement recommendations for all materials needed for work package execution.
Conduct field walkdowns to identify and analyze maintenance, modification, and surveillance activities, providing input to improve work package quality.
Collaborate with Work Management, Supply, Operations, and Engineering to resolve work package issues.
Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials required for planned work packages.
Facilitate package preparation by handling RWP's, plant barrier impairments, fire impairments, operability impact statements, ALARA task outs, regulatory/code documentation, quality hold/witness points, and other requests.
Verify that work instructions comply with all applicable station procedures, including NEC codes and standards.
Review and approve all required work packages to ensure safety, high quality, technical rigor, and 10CFR50.59 screening or evaluation (if required).
Develop, revise, and review maintenance procedures to enhance work package development and maintain compliance with codes, standards, and vendor recommendations.
Manage project elements and oversee other system planners or contractors in detailed package preparation.
Participate in work control/scheduling meetings, planning feedback/craft interface time, contract requisition reviews, complex troubleshooting, maintenance risk assessments, clearance order reviews, planner peer reviews, and system interaction reviews.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of experience in a technical area (e.g., maintenance, engineering, operations, maintenance planning).
OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of experience in a technical area.
OR High school diploma or GED with technical training or education similar to an in-grade apprenticeship program for maintenance-related work and six years of experience in a technical area.
OR High school diploma or GED and ten years of experience in a technical area.
Educational experience from an accredited college or university will be considered year for year in exchange for work experience in a technical area.
Required Abilities and Skills:
Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
Ability to obtain Planner I qualification.
Working knowledge of nuclear power plant work management and planning processes, safety regulations, ALARA requirements, and nuclear security operations, regulations, and requirements.
